Since February of 2008, the DINT had been receiving information that Scott Wiley, 40, has been involved in dealing substantial quantities of methamphetamine. Wiley also possessed a State of Oregon Parole Board Felony Warrant for his arrest, for Absconding. On the evening of March 27, 2008, DINT Investigators conducted surveillance of Wiley, when they observed him driving erratically on Edenbower Boulevard,

    Carolyn Cruso
Multi-instrumentalist Carolyn Cruso moves gracefully between the various instruments she plays (hammered dulcimer, flute, guitar and voice), taking you on a magical journey of lyrical song, instrumental music, and storytelling. She appears this week at the Umpqua Valley Arts Center, Harvard Blvd., in Roseburg, on Friday April 4th, 6pm, $20.08 suggested donation

Twenty years ago Douglas High School was the recipient of the windfall that came with the creation of the Roseburg Antique Show. Now, Umpqua Valley Christian School receives the monies raised.

Put on by the Inner Space Family, this is more a gathering of old friends and new testing the response to wares offered for sale in the coming year.

    Diary of a Truck Driver

Today is Saturday; I am waiting for Cabbage Hill (between Pendelton and LaGrande, Oregon) to remove the chains.

The first Umpqua Store was on the west side of the Umpqua River on George Shambrook's property. The first Post Office, known as Umpqua Ferry, was established March 16, 1877 in the Shambrook home with John C. Shambrook as the postmaster. Who operated the store? I do not know. The store was just north of the old county road that runs in front of Bill Murphy's house and a little to the east.

    George Washington Hartman
These are the life and times of George Washington Hartman. He lived, and died in Jefferson Lake, Minnesota.
Why is his journal being reprinted here you ask? There were many significant, historical events that happened in 1941, and Hartman was so faithful about writing in his journal that we get to look over his shoulder and peer into the past.
Winston resident Joe Walker, Hartman’s great-great grandson, shares this week with us.

The Model T Ford Club of America has decreed 2008 as the 100th year commemoration of the introduction of the first Model T. Although the first model year for the T was 1909, assembly actually began in September of 1908. An event in Indiana is being billed as the site of a voluntary “recall” for all Model Ts still in existence this July at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Richmond, Ind.
