OH, what a kerfuffle... I think I need medication... (not really, but sometimes I wonder). I have been so distactible today. I don’t know what has gotten into me.
We had a terrific time at the coast. The bad weather was just hours after where we’d been. I saw from police reports that there were some ugly wrecks.
With seven people in the truck and it was really quite pleasant. We got out frequently, and SOME of the children slept, a lot!
Something I promised to mention, you can get your yard signs for Measure 10-86 here in my office. (I don’t suppose it’s a huge secret that I sorta, kinda support it.)
I’d like to thank Wendy and Marva, they are organizing the back room... it will be nice to be able to get around back there!!! oh, be on NOTICE, there will be no red pens in Sutherlin on Tuesdays.... i’m buying them all! mwah

Hi! This week has been awesome. it’s before midnight and I’m about ready to send off my files.
School is over with, at least for the week. I’m looking for my math book in the mail (amazon.com... saved $$$) so that I can finish my LAST class on-line.
This isn’t the first class that I’ve taken online, so I’m confident that I’ll do OK. That and my kids have recently taken this same level and they can help me!
We (Cheryl from the Books Gallery and I) had an Open House here at the paper for the Chamber of Commerce and had a FABulous time. I started my Citizen’s Police Academy, and already am learning a lot. A DINT officer spoke to the class and gave a slide presentation explaining what they do, and how extensive our drug problem is in Douglas County.
Linda, Brooke, we won’t be there Wednesday night... I’m being kidnapped (don’t call the police I went WILLINGLY!) My Dear Husband thinks it would be a good idea to go to the coast with all of our kids (plus one). We plan on seeing ship wrecks, cannons, internet cafes - don’t tell him that- this really will be a working vacation because I’m coming back to tell y’all where the best places to go are!

Carving is not just what Huck Finn did on his front porch. The Umpqua Carvers showed what they were made of this last weekend. It turned out, that most of what they ‘were’ made of was a wood called bass wood, and a little Cyprus knee thrown in for good measure.

Hi there! Not much to share for today... I’m getting done earlier and earlier, which makes John (my printer) really happy.
Please note the photo credit for the Wood Carving story... my 8 yr-old does great work. He and Kayleen are going to start carving .
I wish that you all would be able to be a ‘fly on the wall’ in my office. There are some terrifically wonderful people who come in; some to visit, others to read and have a coffee at the Books Gallery. Life HERE is good.
My final in Business Law is tomorrow Morning!... wish me luck! The Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy starts this week....
Spring break is the following week. My husband is Kidnapping me and the family after I put out next week’s paper. woo hoo!!! Oregon Coast, the Holm Family is on their way!!!
Happy Easter, All!

Another week goes by, and until today, all was well. I got an A on my Business Law mid-term. People stopped by here to visit, and that was delightful.

WOW, was I prophetic or what!!! From last week, “...We never know what tomorrow will hold. We see births and deaths; changes everywhere. I guess we just have to pray that our strength will hold up, and remember, it IS ok to pray for patience.” ... well, Wednesday, Feb. 20, I entered into an agreement to buy this paper! The new “Publishing name” is KBEK3 Publishing. There’s Kurt, Becky, Erik, Kayla, Kayleen & Korban - so, since they’re all represented in the name, they HAVE to help their mama.
