I think I have found Mr. Right. I am 22 and he is 24 years old. We've been together for six weeks and I feel terrible when we have to part. He has asked me to marry him.

    Pete's Musings

Last year when I started to write this column I promised myself that I would not make it an editorial or apolitical piece. I wanted a venue where I could write about nothing of great importance.

It's strange what I remember sometimes.  For example, I remember that the daffodils and iris we see in spring along roadsides throughout Oregon were due to a campaign, and after hours of vain research, and fruitless inquiries, I was directed to 'Highway Beautification'. What I remember must have taken place after this act became law on October 22, 1965.  I was a toddler. I guess I'm not surprised that no one else could remember either, because a law to create beauty must not be on our priority list at times.
