Chaplin Jerry Steele recieves thanks from Chief Dannels
for volunteering services
Due to cuts in the Victims Assistance programs the Coquille police department was left wondering how to fill the needs of citizens.
Pastor Steele volunteered to step in and lend a hand. Steel worked with the Los Angeles Police Department for 30 years as a victims advocate and wanted to put his experience to use in his new home town. Police Chief Mark Dannels states he is grateful for the generous offer from someone so well qualified.
“We can use people with this degree of experience. We feel fortunate Jerry has volunteered his time and expertise.”
Steele moved to the area the first part of September from Idaho, to take up duties as the pastor of the Methodist Church in North Bend. His wife Elaine, serves as the pastor of the Methodist church of Coquille.
