Terri Turi, Coos County clerk, swears in newly elected Commissioner, Bob Main

On January 2nd the Commissioner’s Courtroom filled to overflowing for the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected Coos County officials. As the 10 a.m. deadline drew nearer it was clear that there was not enough room as the crowd overflowed to the hallway. The ceremony was moved upstairs to the jury selection room, where even in this larger space, extra chairs were brought in and the room filled to capacity. Terri Turi swore in five County officials; Mary Barton as Coos County Treasurer, Karlas Seidel as County Surveyor, Adam Colby as County Assessor, Paul Frasier Coos County Dstrict Attorney and Bob Main as County Commissioner. It was clear the majority of citizens were in attendance in support of Commissioner Main.

As he was sworn in the crowd began to clap and cheer. Cake and punch was served in the Commissioners Courtroom  following the ceremony.
