The June 23rd "Meet and Greet" at the Coquille Community Garden was a successful event where the planning committee met with gardeners of all ages, including a four-year-old who helped plant tomatoes, peppers, and herbs the day of the get-together. In addition to meeting the participants of the Coquille Community Garden, we would next like to host an event for the entire City of Coquille.
Our Master Gardners have some great ideas for garden classes; however we are also calling for the input of our neighbors. What gardening topics are of interest to you? Do you have pest control or weed control questions? Do you need guidance preparing your soil or planting seeds? Would you like help determining the best time of year to plant certain crops? What is crop rotation? Are there any plants you cannot seem to grow and would like advice on getting them started here in the Coquille Valley? Please e-mail your suggestions to Dawn@webenet.net andwe will schedule our first event as soon as possible. Thanks, Coquille Gardeners!
