The Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) recently awarded Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CCEC) with a safety award at this year’s Engineering and Operations Conference in Spokane, WA. The safety awards are competitive, based upon a review of each utility’s safety record including the number of recordable injury or illness cases and lost work days for a particular year. The cooperative received a third place award in the category of 160,001 to 240,000 hours of exposure for
the two categories. “I am very proud of the work our employees do, their safety conscious attitude and our safety record,” Roger Meader, General Manager/CEO said. “Awards like this show very clearly that they put safety first.” NWPPA is an international association representing and serving customerowned, locally controlled utilities in the Western U.S. and Canada. The Association also serves more than 250 associate members across the U.S. and Canada who are allied with the electric utility industry.
