The Poster Art Project on the side of the Nosler building, is an idea carried out by Dian Courtright, to have fun putting together an art project while drawing attention to the Sawdust Theatre 2009 season. The project consists of 56 11x17 posters applied with a biodegradable glue made of cornstarch
The process has been used to advertise events for hundreds of years, but reached its peak at the turn of the century which corresponds with the time period of the Sawduster’s production, “The Pride of the Sawdust League or Three Strikes and You’re Out.” Dian was assisted by Xochil Huffman and Betty Phillips. The Theatre will be open thru Labor Day weekend. Tickets are available at Bree’s on First Street in Coquille or call (541) 396-4563 for reservations.
