The Barrow Drug building, 74 E. First, in downtown  Coquille has been purchased by Dr. Nancy Keller and  Karen Saxton, owner of Coquille Martial Arts. The new  business will be called Downtown Studio and the 12,000+  square foot building will be home to Coquille Martial Arts,  the Art and Education Enhancement Center and various  classrooms. Some of the classes that will be offered  include astronomy,
art, sculpting, music lessons, dance,  martial arts, and science.

Karen Saxton, of Coquille Martial  Arts, said they are looking for local restaurateurs to help set  up food services for the planned deli/cafeteria area and  would also appreciate any donations of building materials  for the center. They are especially in need of interior doors,  floor tiles, tables and chairs. Volunteers are busy working  on the renovation to have the building open in time for Gay  Nineties weekend. New volunteers are always welcome.  For more information call Karen Saxton at 396-5576 or  Nancy Keller at 396-3855.
