roudly presents, Seussical the Musical! This fantastic play is simply overflowing with up-beat music, over-the-top goofiness, and all your favorite Dr. Suess stories! Suessical explores the themes of honesty, responsibility, and tolerance while keeping even the most easily distracted person's eyes glued to the stage.
Our story begins in the Jungle of Nool, where Horton the Elephant's (Karl Smith) unusually keen ears pick up a cry for help! The other citizens of Nool, such as the Sour Kangaroo (Phylicia Barnett) and the Wickersham Brothers (Steven Cieloha, Joe Latimer and Csagge McNely) react with skepticism at Horton's discovery, and what's worse, they think he's crazy! Horton's neighbor, Gertrude McFuzz, (Meghan Ross) consistently vouches for him, but her cries are subject to the same blind skepticism as Horton's. To top it all off,
Mayzie La Bird (Cally Kennedy) leaves Horton with her egg! Meanwhile, on the planet of Who, Mister and Mrs. Mayor (Myrtle Point Musical Director, Shawn Bridges and Emily Morris) are having troubles of thier own. Their son JoJo (Ross Huffman) is continually disrupting his classes - by thinking! This results in his visit to The Military Academy, where General Genghis Khan Schmitz (Myrtle Point history teacher, Rob Brown) tries to whip him into shape.
All throughout the play, our favorite characters such as The Cat in the Hat, (Gary Dickenson) The Grinch, (Stephen Joyce) and Yertle the Turtle (Myrtle Point band director, Russ Carpenter) pop in for visits, songs, and laughs. Pencil it in on your calendars for May 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. Curtain will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, contact Myrtle Point High School at 572-2811 ext. 280.
