Project Graduation

District Representative Wayne Krieger, hands Coquille High School Co-senior class
presidents, Steffanie Jones and Leah Adams, checks totaling $1,350.00. The money
was contributed by Wayne and Colleen Krieger, State Representative Mike Schaufler
and Mr. Joseph Rohleder, after they heard of the plight of Project Graduation from
Coquille High students.
On a
visit to Coquille High School, Monday, April 6, State Rep Wayne Krieger delivered contributions to help recover funds stolen from the senior class, earned to cover costs of this years graduation party.
Krieger scheduled a visit to the High School after receiving several letters from students concerned about school budget shortfalls.
“I was touched by the sincere concern of the students who took the time to write to me....” Krieger admitted Oregon schools are falling far short of meeting their budgets and there is not an easy fix or an end in sight. “There are three priorities for me, and schools are at the top of the list.
The other two are seniors and veterans.” Krieger ended by saying “thank you” to the students for their questions and concerns.
